Varna is a city which combines the grandeur of the past with the last achievement in the field of tourism. Varna has produced the earliest gold in the human history, working of a mysterious people. Now Varna is really the “Black Sea pearl” and one of the first resorts in Europe. The city is clean and green. The marine garden is the largest in the Balkans.

The history of the ancient settlement begins about 570 B. C.  It was founded from emigrants coming from the Anatolian city Millet, close to an old Thracian settlement and was named Odessos. It developed into an independent polis with an autonomous government and quickly grew into a considerable seaport and trade center along the Black Coast.

Here pass the Persians, the Macedonians, the Goths, the hones & the Avars. The Slaves was mentioned for the first time in 680 A.D. Varna was conclusively liberated on July 27, 1878.
