Hunting in Bulgaria

In the world of the hunting community, Bulgaria is a well known country of modern prerequisites and excellent game trophies. Bulgaria's hunting territory consists of 101 500 sq. km. A total of 54 hunting grounds for international hunting tourism have been set up on this area. Bulgaria disposes of many and various hunting areas, ranging from sub alpine in the mountains, through woodland in the Danube valley, to the exotic Black Sea coast. Beside that Bulgaria boasts the highest and largest unspoiled mountain ranges in Southeast Europe. There are several national parks within the territory of Bulgaria and 89 protected areas and nature reserves under protection.

	Useful tips
	All hunting grounds have hunting lodges in the forest ( 3 to 10 double rooms ), with separate bathrooms and toilets. Many of them are of great luxury with a lot of entertainment possibilities.
	A temporary hunting license is required for each hunter.
	Hunting guns could be rented on spot. The temporary import of hunting guns & cartridges is allowed.
	At your disposal are highly skilled professional guides, jeeps, minibuses or horses. By order, a helicopter or an air-taxi can be arranged.
	The export of the hunted games is permitted, a health certificate will be issued as well.
	Some taxes should be paid on the hunted games.
	Special “ladies programs” for companions could be organized on request.

Hunting opportunities

Over 2000-2500 foreign hunters a year go shooting in Bulgaria, a large part of them being traditional visitors in the country. The natural conditions, the strict observance of the Game Law and the Rules for its application, as well the sciences-based game hunting in Bulgaria give hopes that the country will preserve its position of a leader in this field.

The country offers ideal possibilities for hunters to enrich their collections with capital trophies. Those fond of precious shooting and excitement can join hunting parties for pheasants, wild ducks, quails, partridges and other small games.

The game enterprise

Is presented by 22,500 red deer, 4,900 fallow deer, 78,000 row deer, 2,100 chamois, 2,500 mouflons, over 37,500 boars, over 8,000 bears, 2,2000 capercallies, hares, partidges, pheasants. One of the best red deer populations in the world is in Bulgaria, as well the pheasants, partidges, pigeons and wild ducks are abundant.
